Information for prospective students

Alex Georgiev welcomes enquiries from potential students to carry out research under his supervision in Zanzibar. Get in touch if you're interested in developing a research proposal.

Undergraduate dissertations

Students at Bangor are encouraged to contact me early in the year if interested in carrying out field work over the summer between Year 2 and 3. Details for currently available projects are available through the BSX-2021 module.

Masters by Research dissertations

Typically, I take on students through the MScRes in Biological Sciences degree at Bangor University but if our research interest align well I would consider supervising external students, as well.

PhD study

There are currently no funded studentships available but please check again in October 2019.

Stories from the field

In August 2018 Alex Georgiev and Ann-Sophie Warkentin hosted Biotweeps from Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park. You can scroll through the tweets to find out more about what it's like working with the colobus in Zanzibar.
